Even with the advent of ever more means to connect and share, there comes a time when a hard-copy document or photograph is the only way to go. Thanks to compatibility with the Google Cloud, Kodak’s latest HERO range of All-in-One printers can solve that problem and allow today’s mobile consumers and connected professionals to print how, where and when they want.
Kodak has cut a foothold for its innovative consumer inkjet portfolio, marrying effortless connectivity with Kodak’s unique combination of high quality output and affordable ink. This latest product range, launched globally on 7 September, goes one step further.
Kodak has added three new All-in-One home printers (HERO 5.1, HERO 7.1 and HERO 9.1), as well as the Kodak Office HERO 6.1 for home office print needs. The range is Google Cloud Print Ready and KODAK Email Print Ready, enabling consumers with a Google Cloud Print account and web-connected printer to send documents and photos to their printer from anywhere in the world, using any Internet-connected device.
The HERO Printers also feature built-in intelligence for ease and productivity, and exceptional cost-per-page to offer real long-term value. In addition, Kodak will enable Google Cloud Print and Kodak Email Print for previous generation Kodak All-in-One Printers, making Kodak the first printer manufacturer to also offer cloud printing for its existing customers.
“With our new lineup of HERO Printers, Kodak is helping to meet the needs of an on-the-go lifestyle by making it easy and convenient for consumers to print from any connected device, anywhere,” said Robert Ohlweiler, Director and Vice President, Consumer Inkjet Europe, Africa and Middle East at Eastman Kodak. “With new features like Google Cloud Print and Kodak Email Print, we continue to advance our intelligent technology while also offering the exceptional quality consumers expect from Kodak and premium ink at an affordable price. With Kodak, consumers do not have to compromise between smart features, quality and affordability.”
A key feature of this new range of intelligent printers is that consumers can seamlessly print from their smartphone, laptop or tablet using Google Cloud Print-enabled apps such as Gmail and Google Docs. They can also send emails and attachments to their Kodak Printer, using any email account, with Kodak Email Print Service, and a unique email address allows friends and colleagues to share files for colour-fast, fade-resistant printing. In addition to cloud printing, the Kodak Pic Flick App makes it possible to print photos via Wi-Fi from any compatible iPhone, iPod touch, iPad, Blackberry or Android OS Device.
The global launch is supported by a comprehensive marketing campaign to be rolled-out in Kodak’s key territories. In the UK, the launch is supported by the Beautifully Cheap Printing TV advertising and is being pushed through the line with in-store POS, digital partnerships, online retailer banners and a comprehensive PR campaign.
